About us
The Puycheny site

A historical and cultural site
30 km south of Limoges, in the hamlet of Puycheny, in the commune of St-Hilaire-les-Places, the Atelier-Musée de la Terre invites you to discover a high place of traditional tile-making craftsmanship, to experiment with a material and know-how linked to clay.
Millions of years ago, a mysterious, rare and singular rock appeared: serpentine. Its decomposition created the clay of Puycheny. Waterproof and malleable, it has been used for centuries as a material to build, to create, to dream.
Throughout the year, you can discover the history of the Puycheny tile works through visits and experiment with clay in all its forms through modeling workshops, demonstrations, training courses, as well as participate in various cultural events.
